Applications are invited for a PhD studentship in Quantum Materials. This position is part of the newly funded UK EPSRC research grant, Topological Spintronics, led by Dr Wenqing Liu. The studentship includes a stipend of approx. £16,777 plus fees (at home/EU rates) for three years. Overseas applicants are welcome to apply but would be required to have other sources to pay the difference between UK and overseas tuition fees. The PhD student will be based on the Nano-Electronics Group within Electronic Engineering. The department has a purposely-designed brand-new Science Building situated on the beautiful Egham campus close to London.
Eligibility Applicants should hold, or be predicted to achieve, an undergraduate degree or equivalent in Science, and ideally one of the following subjects: Physics, Material Science, and Chemistry. An MSc in relevant disciplines is desirable. Some laboratory research experience in physical subjects and relevant track records would be advantageous.
